Sushita Introduces Frozen Sushi To The Spanish Retail Market

After successfully introducing frozen sushi to the Spanish hospitality sector, Sushita has ventured into retail. According to revistaaral.com, Alcampo is the first supermarket chain to feature Sushita's frozen sushi range on its shelves.

The product is developed San Sebastián de los Reyes, Madrid, and it uses the same raw ingredients as fresh sushi. Once finished, the product undergoes a modern freezing process that keeps its organoleptic qualities intact.

Sushita is a company created in 1999 by Natacha Apolinario and Sandra and José Manuel Segimón. It is seen as a pioneer in Spain in terms of the commercialisation of Japanese dishes and its products are present in over 500 points of sale, including the main retail chains in the country.

The company also offers a custom catering service, which has points of sale in Madrid and Palma de Mallorca.

In 2015, the company opened the restaurant chain Sushita Café, where the offer consists of high-end Japanese fusion dishes at affordable prices.
