Tate & Lyle PLC has announced the appointment of Dawn Allen as its new chief financial officer and a member of its board, effective 16 May 2022.
She succeeds Vivid Sehgal, who stepped down from the role and parted ways with the company on 31 December 2021.
Currently, she serves as Mars Incorporated’s global CFO and vice-president of global transformation.
Before taking up this position in 2020, she spent 25-years with the company in several senior finance roles in Europe and the US.

Allen began her career in 1991 with auditing firm EY and was based in the UK.
In 1995, she joined Courtaulds plc in the corporate finance department before moving to Mars, Incorporated in 1997.
She started as Europe Confectionery finance manager in Mars in the Netherlands before returning to the UK in 2000.
She served in sales finance and financial controller roles before being appointed as country CFO Mars Chocolate UK in 2007.
Gerry Murphy, board chairman of Tate & Lyle, added, “Dawn [Allen]’s extensive financial, commercial and international experience will be of great value to Tate & Lyle and she is a very welcome addition to our Board.”
In 2013, Allen moved to Chicago as regional CFO Wrigley Americas and moved back to London in 2016 as global divisional CFO, food, drinks and multisales.
Dawn serves as a non-executive director of Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd, a public company based in India.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Bath University, UK, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
