Tesco is to be the first supermarket chain in the UK to retail award-winning Irish soup brand Cully & Sully, which will initially be available in 730 of its British outlets.
The brand's range includes Tomato & Basil, Positively Distinctly Pea & Minty Soup, Vegetable Soup, Sweet Tempered Honey, and Carrot & Coriander, and was already available in Tesco's Irish stores. The recommended retail price for the 400g items is £1.50 each.
In a statement, it said, "Due to popular demand, we’ve launched our range of fresh soups in the UK and look forward to sharing our gourmet-expertise with consumers. Our range will enable Tesco to provide convenient, fresh, restaurant-quality soups for consumers."
The Cork-based company's Lentil & Smoked Bacon Soup and Hearty Mushroom Soup each won a star at the UK's Great Taste Award.
