Tuttofood, which took place in Milan this week, looks set to post record-breaking attendance figures for 2015, based on the numbers attending the show across the four days.
The show, which kicked off on 3 May and wrapped up yesterday (6 May), took place at Fiera Milano, and coincided with the opening week of Expo 2015.
As Paolo Borgio, Exhibition Manager at Tuttofood, explains, “The figures from this year’s event alone do not do justice to how this event has evolved over the years: 2,838 exhibitors representing 7,000 brands over a total surface area of 180,000 m² gross and 10 pavilions.
"The whole supply chain appreciates the agreements we have forged over the years with trade associations, a chance to hold meetings with companies, and conferences open to people in the industry.”
Tuttofood is currently Europe's third-largest food fair, and has increased the size of some of its more important sections this year. For example, the Meats and Cold Cuts section is 40% bigger than in 2013, while Desserts and Confectionery has attracted twice as many exhibitors.
The event is spread over a number of sections: AIDEPI (pasta and confectionery), ASSICA (meats and cold cuts), ASSOBIRRA (beer industry), CONFIDA (vending), MINERACQUA (water and beverages), QUALIVITA (consortium for certified food quality), UNAPROL (oil and olive growing), and UNIONALIMENTARI (National union of small- and medium-sized food manufacturers).
In addition to Italian exhibitors, this year's fair has also welcomed non-Italian companies, with 400 exhibitors from 43 nations present, up 80% on 2013.
