The 20th edition of Cibus, the international food exhibition, has been rescheduled for May 2021 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision was taken by Fiere di Parma and Federalimentare with the consent of ITA – Italian Trade Agency and businesses in the Italian agri-food supply chain.
The event is now scheduled to be held from 4 to 7 May 2021 in Parma.
The decision to postpone the food fair was based on the decision that a downsized edition of the exhibition would not meet the expectations of exhibitors and visitors.
International Forum
Fiere di Parma and Federalimentare have also announced plans to host an international forum on 2-3 September 2020 in Parma to address the subject of restarting businesses once the pandemic subsides.
Titled ‘Cibus Forum - Food & Beverage Sector And COVID: From Transition To Transformation’, the event will examine changes in consumer behaviour after the crisis and evaluate necessary measures to recover production and exports in the agri-food sector.
It will see industry stakeholders and national and international experts discuss future scenarios for the sector.
The forum will be hosted and live-streamed from the Fiere di Parma exhibition centre.
A pavilion at the exhibition centre has been restructured to host a limited number of guests and key speakers in compliance with the most advanced safety and security standards.
Online Platform
Fiere di Parma and Federalimentare have set up an innovative online platform, ‘My Business Cibus’, which will allow commercial operators to search and select products showcased by Cibus exhibitors.
All the products that the companies publish on their websites have been indexed and grouped in the platform.
