Unilever Launches 'Soy Frigo' Programme Across Europe

Unilever has launched its Soy Frigo youth programme across Europe, with which the FMCG giant is seeking to 'create a brilliant future' for 10,000 young people in the continent and 100,000 globally by 2020.

As reported by granconsumo.tv, Spain was one of the pioneer countries for the programme and after receiving 25,000 applications in 2015, some 400 young Spanish workers were employed that year. In 2016, this figure grew to 500 employees.

The Soy Frigo programme is targeted at young unemployed people that are looking to incorporate themselves in the workforce. In many cases, Unilever's ice cream brand offers them their first job experience.

Jan Zijderveld, President of Unilever Europe, said he was "very happy to launch Soy Frigo in Europe" and he added that "European youth has an enormous potential and Soy Frigo tries to inspire them to start their own businesses. Our programme establishes the people's success by providing them with all they need, from ice cream carts to uniforms and licenses."
