Turkish food conglomerate Yildiz Holding, which owns the McVitie’s biscuit brand, has spun off its snacking business, Pladis, and plans to float it on the the London Stock Market, the Daily Mail has reported.
The paper said that the Pladis business encompasses the various businesses that Yildiz owns in the snacking and confectionery categories, including United Biscuits, Godiva Chocolatier, Ulker and DeMet's Candy Company.
Plaids will be listed publicly by 2020, the company said.
"The idea of bringing these businesses together came right before we purchased United Biscuits. We have been the fastest growing confectionery and biscuit maker for several years,” a company spokesperson was reported as saying.
"Now we want to strengthen this growth trajectory and we thought it would be best done by marrying all of the brands into a single company".
