Unilever is to launch the toothpaste Zendium in France.
The brand, which was originally a Scandinavian one, was purchased by Unilever from Sara Lee in 2010. The toothpaste, which is still a category-leader in Denmark, is very well-known in the north of Europe.
Guerric Bazin, head of Unilever's oral care division, said that the company wants to make the toothpaste equaly as familiar to consumers in southern Europe, beginning with France.
He commented that the Zendium is “a new approach to oral hygiene: it does not contain conventional anti-bacterial agents, but rather enzymes and proteins which stimulate natural defence-mechanisms of the mouth.
