Aldi Private Label Crémant Rated As Best Value Sparkling Wine

WotWine, an app that calculates the value of wines in relation to their prices based on the opinions of industry experts (including Masters of Wines), has judged Aldi’s Philippe Michel Crémant du Jura the best private label sparkling wine buy for Christmas, express.co.uk reports.

Among the big supermarket forerunners it defeated to win the accolade were the private label sparkling wines of Marks & Spencer and Waitrose respectively.  The Crémant du Jura also picked an award at this year’s International Wine and Spirit Competition in the Northern Hemisphere category.

Moreover, Wotwine deemed 66.12 of Aldi UK wines to be “good value”, which marks a rise over three percentage point in the last six months.

Mike James, Aldi UK wine purchaser, said, “Our philosophy is to sell a carefully selected range of keenly priced wines that don't compromise on quality so this accolade is really important to us.

“We work very closely with our suppliers from some of the world's best vineyards to cater for our customers here in the UK.

“We want to ensure Aldi's customers get the very best value for money and so it's great to be recognised for this in WotWine's supermarket league table.”

Aldi’s Philippe Michel Crémant du Jura retails at £7.29.
