German organic retailer Alnatura has announced the opening of its first supermarket in Lüneburg, near Hamburg.
This will be the retailer’s seventh outlet in the Lower Saxony region, and brings the total number of stores it operates across the country to 122. The new store has a retail space of 465 square metres, and features a range of over 6,000 organic and regional products.
Sustainability
To commemorate the opening, Alnatura announced that it is carrying out its fundraising campaign ‘Alnatura Stadtprojekte’ to support three of the city’s charitable associations. It also announced a 'welcome discount' of 10% off almost all of its items during the first week.
The supermarket also places an emphasis on sustainability. All furnishings are made of wood or other recyclable materials, and were created in an energy-saving manner.
