Dairy firm Arla Foods has announced the retirement of Povl Krogsgaard from his position as vice-CEO, executive board member, and head of supply chain.
Krogsgaard is set to retire on 31 December 2017, and will be replaced by Sami Naffakh, who has been named executive vice president and head of supply chain.
Arla says that Krogsgaard's career has spanned many changes in the company, which evolved from a Danish and Swedish co-operative to a company with farmer owners in seven European countries. Last month, the company posted a 3.4% increase in revenue to €5 billion in the first half of 2017.
From Past To Future
Arla Foods CEO Peder Tuborgh said that Krogsgaard "leaves an exceptional legacy, having built some of the global dairy industry’s most advanced and sustainable dairies", and underlining that as head of supply chain he brought important innovations to the sector.
Sami Naffakh, who has a wide range of experience in the FMCG sector, having worked in Danone, Reckitt Benkiser, Unilever and the Estée Lauder Companies, will join the cooperative in January 2018.
“Sami has proven global leadership skills and a strong understanding of both consumers and the major trends and challenges facing our customers, which are critical to the successful delivery of our Good Growth 2020 strategy," added Tuborgh.
