US website Wine.com, the largest online wine retailer in the world, has named Pernod Ricard wine brand Brancott Estate as number one in its annual Wine.com 100 survey, which reflects consumer preference.
In claiming the top spot, the Sauvignon Blanc SKU becomes the first New Zealand wine in a decade to do so.
Patrick Materman, chief winemaker at Brancott Estate, said that it is "an honour to be so well regarded by Wine.com and all our fans of the Brancott Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015."
"We knew Marlborough was going to produce some pretty special wines when we first planted Sauvignon Blanc back in 1975," he added, “and it’s rewarding to see our wines being enjoyed by so many people across the US."
