Ahold Delhaize has urged shareholders to refrain from attending its Annual General Meeting of shareholders in person in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The group's AGM is scheduled for 8 April 2020 at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam
A limited number of members of the management and supervisory boards will attend the meeting in-person while other members are to participate remotely, the company said.
Live Broadcast
Shareholders will be able to follow the proceedings of the meeting as Ahold Delhaize has arranged for a live broadcast of the event.
They will also be able to exercise their voting rights through electronic or written proxy on or before 1 April 2020.
Besides, the company will also answer questions submitted by shareholders, in writing, to the company secretary before 4 April 2020.
Shareholders who still insist on attending the meeting in-person are to send their requests via email before 3 April 2020, the company said.
The meeting will not admit visitors as well as people who show symptoms of COVID-19 as referred to on the Dutch RIVM website, such as cough, shortness of breath or fever, or who have been in contact with any person suffering from COVID-19 during the previous 14 days.
Ahold Delhaize has added that shareholders who attend the meeting in-person will do so at their own health risk and are responsible for maintaining the mandatory social distance at all times.
