Beiersdorf has announced plans to supply 500 tonnes of disinfectant to critical public emergency services and personnel to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in Europe.
The Nivea-maker has ramped up the production of medical-grade disinfectants in its European production facilities to meet this target.
Serial Production
The personal-care brand has started the serial production of sanitisers after creating the technical prerequisites for manufacturing disinfectants at its facilities last week.
The sanitisers are being produced in the company’s production plants in Hamburg; Waldheim in Saxony, Germany; and Tres Cantos near Madrid, Spain, the company said.
Distribution
The company will distribute sanitisers, in close collaboration with local authorities, to clinics and hospitals, medical and nursing staff, as well as other public services based on requirement.
It aims to ensure the quickest and most efficient delivery of the disinfectants directly from the plant to emergency services centres.
