Groupe Casino has announced it is to deliver two million protective surgical masks to healthcare personnel by the end of April, after a fundraising drive in its stores during Easter.
On Saturday April 11 and Sunday April 12, Casino announced that 15% of the revenue from all fruit and vegetables sold across its network would be donated to hospitals and health bodies in the form of medical equipment.

Support Local
The group said that as well as supporting the medical profession, the initiative also made it possible for shoppers to support French farmers and producers.
The distribution of the masks will be undertaken by Casino's online Cdiscount business, which will direct the masks directly to the healthcare locations.
The move follows other initiatives carried out by Casino to support healthcare workers – in recent days Monoprix has rolled out a 'solidarity baskets' campaign for caregivers, while Cdiscount is working with local authorities around the country on the distribution of health equipment.
