Spar Switzerland has launched a free home delivery service for vulnerable customers in light of an outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
The retailer has partnered with Zämädihei, a platform that provides support services to vulnerable people, to execute the service.
It has also arranged for volunteers to help people who are unable to go out for grocery shopping.
Marketing director at Spar Switzerland, Wolfgang Frick, said, “We are convinced that we can effectively support many Spar customers who are currently at particular risk or who are unable to shop themselves via the Zämädihei platform.”
The Service
Customers can register for the service using a form or by placing a phone call, the retailer said.
Zämädihei verifies the information and coordinates between helpers and those seeking the service.
Launched on 18 March, Zämädihei has seen more than 100 new volunteers signing up daily.
