Spar UK partner A.F. Blakemore has launched an online platform to help customers avail of home delivery service for essential items.
The service offers around 1,100 SKUs across all categories, including fruit and vegetables, bread, meat, dairy, drinks, snacks, alcohol, tobacco, and household goods, the retailer added.
The website complements the retailer's phone ordering service, which aims to help vulnerable shoppers during the pandemic.
Retail Managing Director at Blakemore, Matt Teague, commented, “In recent weeks, Spar stores have played a key role in local communities delivering essential groceries to those most in need.
“We hope that this new platform improves our home delivery service by making it easier for customers to see what products we have available without leaving their homes.”
How It Works
To place an order, customers are required to register or log in at www.afbspar.co.uk and select their nearest store.
The store contacts the customer via a phone call for payment after the order has been placed, and then arranges a convenient delivery slot.
The website will cater to customers residing within two miles of Spar stores offering the service, the retailer added.
Spar will charge a £3 delivery fee, which will be waived off for key workers, NHS staff, and vulnerable customers who are self-isolating.
