Stock Spirits Group has announced that it has started manufacturing hand sanitisers at its production facility in Pilsen, Czech Republic.
The initiative aims to help in fighting the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
The company has already produced 90,000 bottles of 200ml capacity and expects to manufacture more in due course.
Stock Spirits is donating the hand sanitiser to the Czech government and retail companies.
It will be used by healthcare personnel, emergency services, and people working in food stores, bakeries and food production companies.
'Critically Important Time'
Chief executive officer of Stock Spirits, Mirek Stachowicz, said, “We are glad to be in a position to offer our help to governments, medical services and businesses in the Czech Republic and Poland in their efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19. We will continue to do everything that we can to help at this critically important time.”
The group has also donated raw spirits to Czech municipalities in a bid to assist the effort to produce disinfectants.
It is also discussing the prospect of manufacturing hand sanitiser at its production facility in Lublin, Poland.
Poland and the Czech Republic account for 80% of the company’s business and are two of its largest markets, the company added.
