Italian retailer Crai has reported a 9% annual growth in turnover for 2016, increasing to €5.8 billion.
The supermarket chain experienced an increase of 0.15% in February 2017, placing ninth on the list of the largest Italian grocery retailers, with a 3.46% market share.
Company Expansion
Cria has opened 332 new food stores over the past two years, taking its total to over 3,400. In the first six months of 2017, it has opened 78 new stores. The retailer has also opened 293 new drug stores over the past two years.
Currently, Crai is in the process of acquiring the Pellicano brand, has an agreement in place with France’s Geimex to launch the discount supermarket chain Leader Price Italia, and has set up a new partnership with the Coralis consortium.
The company also plans to launch the new Cuor di Crai store banner, the new Linea Crai Bio private label line, and an e-commerce platform.
