Germany's DM, Tegut Drop Lawsuit Against Alnatura

Following a two year process, German retailers DM and Tegut have settled their lawsuit against German organic supermarket Alnatura.

DM founder Götz Werner and Tegut founder Wolfgang Gutberlet have been in dispute with Götz Rehn, founder of Alnatura and brother-in-law of Werner, over the trademark rights to 'Alnatura' for some time. Spiegel reports that the dispute escalated in 2015 after DM began to replace Alnatura products with its own private label organic line.

Mutual Agreement

The judicial dispute has now ended in a mutual agreement and ‘with respect for the time spent together’.

Alnatura, founded in 1984 by Rehn, produces more than 1,300 different organic products that are marketed in Alnatura Super Natur supermarkets, in outlets of various trading partners, and in the Alnatura online shop.
