Aldi Denmark has announced a multi-year collaboration with the country's first and only master of wine, Jonas Tofterup, to revise and improve its wine offering.
Commenting on the partnership, managing director of Aldi Denmark, Finn Tang, said, "Wine is in the top ten of most marketed categories among the discount chains in Denmark.
"At Aldi, we want to differentiate our wine sales by selling high quality at the best prices on the market, without compromising on responsibility."
'Knowledge And Insight'
In addition, Tofterup, added, "Together we can find good value for money wines, increase customers' taste experiences and provide more knowledge and insight into the world of wine."
Tofterup is the first Dane to have passed the world's hardest wine exam, and become a Master of Wine.
Presently, there are only 384 Masters of Wine across the world.
Tofterup holds a bachelor's degree in food science from the University of Copenhagen and a master's degree in viticulture and oenology.
The collaboration between Tofterup and Aldi Denmark will officially commence on 1 April.
