Drinks manufacturer LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has announced that its Ardbeg brand is releasing a new whisky - Ardbeg An Oa.
The company says that the new single-malt whisky is inspired Scotland's Mull of Oa, and 'pays tribute to the towering cliffs that shelter the Ardbeg Disterlly from raging Atlantic storms'.
"Gathered unhurriedly from parcels of whisky matured in Pedro Ximénez casks, virgin oak and ex-bourbon – amongst others – Ardbeg An Oa’s subtly smoky aromas contrast with notes of creamy toffee, aniseed, hints of peach and banana," said Dr. Bill Lumsden, Ardbeg's director of distilling.
"The result is a complex whisky like no other, created thanks to the singular Ardbeggian alchemy."
The new product will permanently join Ardbeg's core range, which also includes Ardbeg Ten Years, Ardbeg Uigeadail, and Ardbeg Corryvreckan.
