Spirits giant Bacardi Limited has added drinks-industry veteran Stella David to its 16-member board of directors.
Facundo L. Bacardi, chairman of the board of directors of Bacardi Limited, announced the new director to the board at the company's AGM in Hamilton, Bermuda.
David, who until February 2016 served as the chief executive of Scotch whisky company William Grant & Sons, previously worked for Bacardi from 1994 to 2009, holding a number of key positions, including chief executive officer of the United Kingdom, Irish, Dutch and African businesses.
“Stella brings further expertise in the management and marketing of global spirits brands to the Bacardi board. We are thrilled to have her back with us, as her nearly 25 years of spirits-industry experience with both Bacardi and William Grant will serve us well as we continue to grow and innovate,” said Bacardi, a great-great grandson of the company’s founder and a fifth-generation Bacardi family member.
“This appointment continues to reflect the company’s strong commitment to corporate governance within the spirits industry.”
Bacardi Limited, the largest privately held spirits company in the world, owns a number of global spirits brands, including Bacardi rum, Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Sapphire gin and Dewar's Scotch.
