Spirits company Beam Suntory has announced the appointment of Greg Hughes as its president for North America, effective 1 January 2019.
Hughes joined the spirits company in 2015 as general manager for the United States, and in 2017 he was made the general manager for the North American region.
'A Key Leader'
He played an important role in helping Beam Suntory achieve sustained share gains in the US market.
Matt Shattock, chairman and CEO of Beam Suntory, said, “Since joining Beam Suntory, Greg has stepped up to every leadership challenge he has taken on, and he’s demonstrated a strong track record of performance.
“Greg brings strength in marketing, commercial and people leadership, and he has been a key leader in helping deliver sustained outperformance in the US, our largest global market.”
An Industry Veteran
Hughes is a veteran consumer products executive with more than 25 years of experience in management, marketing, and various commercial roles.
He served as the vice-president of marketing for Kraft’s billion-dollar dressing and condiment portfolio, apart from successful stints at Procter & Gamble, and Bel Brands USA.
A graduate of the University of Kansas, he completed his MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
He will succeed Albert Baladi, who will move on as the next president and CEO of Beam Suntory, effective 1 April 2019.
