Brazilian supermarket chain Pão de Açúcar has imported over 100,000 bottles of Portuguese wine, from seven wine regions and 19 producers.
The contract, worth around €300.000, is the result of promotional activities carried out in recent years by the Business Association of Portugal (AEP) with Brazilian importers, distributors, sommeliers and restaurants.
The most recent took place last February in Porto, and saw six professional buyers and a consultant specialising in Portuguese wines from the Pão de Açúcar group taste about 300 wines from 42 producers, from seven regions.
After the experts made their choice, the Brazilian chain hosted in the first two weeks of June, in its more than 800 stores, a presentation called 'Premium Wines of Portugal'
