BrewDog, the Scottish brewer of craft beers such as Punk IPA and 5 A.M. Saint, has followed up on its decision to expand into Germany by announcing that it will begin brewing in Ohio in the US, according to thedrinksbusiness.com.
The Aberdeenshire drinks-maker has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with its annual turnover for 2014 up by 64 per cent to £29 million.
That it will begin operating in Berlin in September of this year reflects its quality and strength, as the German market is known to be rich in high-quality beers – a fact which reflects the nation's culture of brewing.
On the decision to enter Germany, the 2007-founded firm commented, “We don’t get the keys until September and we are just starting work on the designs here so expect this one to be up and running by the end of 2015 and we look to shake up the most conservative beer market in Europe.”
