Danish brewer Carlsberg has combined its Northern and Western Europe businesses into a single unit, aligning its resources, and creating a new supply chain structure.
Jørn Tolstrup Rohde (pictured), current senior vice president of the Northern Europe arm, is to head up the newly-created Western Europe Region, while the former head of the Western unit, Jesper Friis, is departing the company to take on a role at Danish Crown, a food group.
Carlsberg chief executive Joergen Buhl Rasmussen said, “Having the region under one leadership enables our resources to be further focused and aligned, whilst speeding up the implementation of common commercial capabilities and best practices across our European markets. It will also mean that our new supply chain structure will then mirror our commercial set-up." (11 Oct)
