A subsidiary of the Castel group, SVF, has launched a line of alcohol-free wines named 'Grain d’Envie'.
It is expected that the alcohol-free wine segment in France will grow in line with the alcohol-free beer market (2.9% of beers sold in France now contain no alcohol), according to French publication, LSA.
Castel’s new wine range so far includes a Merlot (red) and a Syrah (rosé). Their provenances are not stated.
The 0.75-litre bottles carry an RRP of €3.20 in France. Tastings are to take place in certain supermarkets and an advertising campaign has been arranged to launch the product line.
Castel is the biggest wine-producer in Europe.
