An estimated 420 million people will see a new advertisement for the cava brand Codorníu in a promotional drive that the drinks multinational believes will boost sales,thedrinksbusiness.com reports.
The campaign will promote the sparkling wine brand in the United States, the UK, Belgium, Spain, the European Nordic nations, Switzerland, and South America.
The timing of the advertising push is essential, as around 30 per cent of Codorníu's sales take place during the Christmas period. The campaign was launched worldwide yesterday (8 December).
The company's CEO, Javier Pagés, said, “What we are presenting is much more than a Christmas advert. We want to take the Codorníu brand beyond conventions.”
He also espoused the belief that “2015 has been the year of Cava’s recovery.”
