Coca Cola Enterprises is to invest £6 million in its manufacturing site in East Kilbride, Scotland this year.
The investment included installing a new robotic palletiser for stacking pallets to improve operational and energy efficiencies. The technology has the capacity to handle 14,000 bottles per hour and the ability to increase this speed to 20,000 bottles per hour as required.
CCE also invested in a new water treatment facility at the site this year.
Leendert den Hollander, vice president and general manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises GB, said the investment demonstrates CCB's ongoing commitment to manufacturing in Scotland. The company is focused on delivering manufacturing excellence, he said.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “It’s fantastic that Coca-Cola is dedicated to supporting manufacturing in the area. Fair work and innovation make our economy even more competitive, which in turn brings benefits to individuals and communities across the whole of the country.”
