Colruyt product, Everyday 100% squeezed orange juice, has been recalled from shops, following the discovery of the yeast, saccharomyces, in the fresh drink.
The company has stated that the yeast is not a health risk to consumers, however, it creates a gas which has led to bottles tearing or bursting open.
The taste of the juice may also be altered as a result of the presence of saccharomyces, making it taste sour, but Colruyt assures customers that it is safe to drink.
Bottles of Everyday juice have been removed from store shelves as a precaution, and any customers who have purchased the drink, are advised to open the container with caution and return the empty bottle for a refund.
