French wine cooperative La Compagnie de Burgondie has launched a new 'Burgondie' wine brand, destined for hypermarkets in France and abroad.
This will place 30 appellations under the single brand name. The cooperative lists Super U, Carrefour and E.Leclerc as its initial French distributers, and it will export to destinations within Europe, as well as sites in the US, China, and Russia.
A five-year plan has been established, requiring an investment of €0.5 million, at the end of which the brand is expected to have a turnover of €12 million. Its SKUs will retail at a price from €7 to €20.
La Compagnie de Burgondie trades in 30 countries, and registered a 2016 turnover of €28 million.
