Constellation Brands, the owner of Corona and Modelo beer brands, has acquired a minority stake in the North Carolina-based Durham Distillery.
The investment was made through the beverage giant's 'Focus on Female Founders' programme, which invests in businesses founded and led by women in the alcoholic beverage segment.
The brewery, founded by Melissa and Lee Katrincic in 2013, produces craft gin, vodka, liqueur, and ready-to-drink canned cocktails.
A Leader In Craft Gin
Durham Distillery has been recognised as one of the top craft gin distilleries in the US by USA Today, Constellation Brands said.
It has also won more than 50 national and international awards, including 'Best in the US' by the World Gin Awards for its Conniption Navy Strength Gin.
Melissa and Lee Katrincic will continue to manage the brewery, and oversee the production, marketing, and sales of products in and outside of the US, the Corona-maker said.
Product Range
Some of Durham Distillery's products include Conniption Navy Strength Gin, Conniption American Dry Gin and Damn Fine Liqueurs in chocolate, mocha and coffee variants.
In the canned cocktails segment, it offers Conniption gin and tonic, cucumber vodka and soda; and Conniption gin rosé spritz.
