Spirits giant Diageo has announced the appointment of Vinod Rao to the combined role of group treasurer and head of global audit and risk, effective 1 October 2020.
Commenting on his appointment, Diageo CFO, Kathryn Mikells, said, “Vinod [Rao] brings a wealth of operational, market and global experience to this new role and I would like to thank him for his strong leadership of investor relations.”
Elsewhere, the chief financial officer of Diageo North America, Lavanya Chandrashekar, will take up the additional role of the head of group investor relations.
An Experienced Professional
Chandrashekar held several finance and strategy roles at global and regional levels in Procter & Gamble and Mondelēz International before joining Diageo in 2018.
Over the last two years, she was instrumental in re-shaping Diageo’s finance function to support the growth of its most important market.
Rao and Chandrashekar will begin the transition process immediately, with a formal handover at the start of October, after Diageo’s AGM, the company said.
