Diageo Announces Changes To Executive Committee

Global drinks giant Diageo has announced a number of changes to its executive committee.

Gilbert Ghostine will take on the newly-created role of chief corporate development officer with responsibility for business development in India and China.

As president of Diageo India and Greater China, he will also join the Moët Hennessy - Diageo Joint Committee.

Nick Blazquez is appointed president of Diageo Africa, Eurasia and Pacific.

He will take over responsibility for the markets of North Asia, South East Asia, Australia and Global Travel and Middle East (GTME), alongside his existing responsibility for Africa, Turkey, Russia and Eastern Europe, and the global route to consumer work.

“Bringing these markets under Nick’s leadership will enable to us to build on the footprint we have already created in these fast growth geographies,” said Ivan Menezes, chief executive of Diageo.

David Cutter, currently international supply centre director, is appointed president of global supply and procurement.

David Gosnell, the current president, will retire at the end of the financial year.

The supply and procurement function will report directly to Deirdre Mahlan, CFO of Diageo.

"The three changes bring together a strong leadership team," said Menezes.

He added that he was looking forward to delivering on Diageo becoming one of the “best performing, most trusted and respected consumer products companies in the world”.

The changes will be effective from July 1.
