Diageo, the producer of Guinness, is today opening its Brewhouse No. 4 at St James' Gate, in Dublin City.
Diageo has invested nearly €169 million in the new brewery which is designed to be highly efficient and capable of producing over two billion pints every year.
The brewery is one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally stable breweries in the world.
The new facility was one of the largest construction projects in Ireland in recent years and all Diageo's Irish brewing operations will now be centered at St James' Gate, after the closure of its breweries elsewhere in the country.
This means that the James' Gate facility is now the biggest stout brewery in the world. 35 per cent of Diageo's beer is produced at the site, equating to three million pints every day.
