Following its acquisition of a 60% stake in the Belgian brewer Palm, Dutch drinks firm Bavaria has announced that it is to introduce three of its beers into the French market.
With a recommended retail price of €4.35 for a 75cl bottle (or €5.75 for 4x33 cl) will be the oak-aged Cornet, named after Theodoor Cornet, the 17th century inn keeper of Afspanning De Hoorn in Steenhuffel, who was head of brewing and distilling.
Also joining its product portfolio will be Brugge Tripel, which is to be available in a 33cl bottle (€2.10). It was originally brewed in the eponymous city in the 15th century, LSA.fr says.
Finally, French supermarkets will retail the burgundy-coloured Rodenbach, which was founded in 1821 by Pedro Rodenbach.
