Heineken Ireland has announced Maarten Schuurman as its new managing director. He replaces Maggie Timoney, who has been appointed as the CEO of Heineken USA.
Schuurman previously held the role of head of global sales at the company's headquarters in the Netherlands.
He joined the world's second-largest beer-maker in 1996 as a management trainee.
He spent 22 years in the company in various roles, encompassing both global and general management leadership positions.
Good European Results
Heineken recently posted a 5% growth in revenue for full year 2017 , with the brand enjoying ‘healthy growth’ across European markets, in particular, Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands.
However, the beer maker cut its full-year margin forecasts due to currency weakness in some profitable markets and expansion in Brazil.
Expanding Group Portfolio
Earlier this year, Heineken Ireland launched its new no-alcohol variant, Heineken 0.0%.
Commenting at the time, Radina Shkutova, marketing director for Heineken Ireland said, “Research shows that over 76% of Irish people state that having a balanced lifestyle is important, yet only 25% believe it is easy to achieve this balance. We believe that Heineken 0.0% will help to provide a solution for this challenge.”
Heineken also distributes Sol, Desperados, and ciders such as Orchard Thieves.
