Hennessy has unveiled the new design for its limited edition 'Very Special' cognac bottle.
Felipe Pantone, a renowned name in the world of international contemporary art, designed the new look of the label for 2019.
The Design
Pantone visited the Maison’s archives in Cognac to go through old Hennessy labels and met its master blender, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, to understand the brand more thoroughly.
He incorporated his own signature shapes with the three-star design used by Maurice Hennessy in the past.
He also used an archival quilted pattern along with a multicoloured lightning bolt to represent the speed of the digital era as well as Hennessy’s ability to capture future-facing momentum.
'A Heritage Brand'
Pantone added, "As an artist, I want to enhance the Hennessy Very Special experience with something that has never existed before.
"I wanted to show how Hennessy lives intensely in the present. It may be a heritage brand but it’s bursting with dynamism," he added.
Every year, Maison Hennessy invites a guest artist to recreate the design of its 'Very Special' cognac bottle.
