Italian coffee producer Illycaffè has seen a growth of sales in both the EMEA region and North America in 2015, by 8 per cent and 23 per cent, respectively.
The signing of several new strategic partnership agreements contributed to the positive result in North America, including one with Keurig, for new K-Cup/Illy capsules; with United Airlines, for the offer of Illy coffee on board and in the lounge; and with Amazon.
Foreign sales account for 63 per cent of the company’s total turnover, with the highest growth registered on the Chinese market (+60 per cent yoy).
Sales in the domestic market grew by 8 per cent in the same period.
In the retail segment, the company opened 29 new Illy Caffè- and Illy Shop-branded sales points over the past year.
Overall, Illycaffè ended 2015 with a consolidated turnover of €437 million (+12 per cent), while net profit reached €16 million, compared to €12 million a year earlier.
Recently, the family-run company named Massimiliano Pogliani, with previous professional experience at Saeco, Nespresso, Nestlé Super Premium and Vertu, as its new CEO.
