Italy remains the leading supplier of wines to the USA, reaching 32.4% of the American sector, a study has found.
The study was released to coincide with Italian Wine Week - VINO 2017, organized in New York by I.C.E., the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade.
Between January and November of the last year, Italian wine sales volume in the US reached $1.65 billion, 5.9% more than 2015. US-based consumers also associate quality with Italian wines, the study found, as wines priced more than 20 USD are growing by 12%.
The US is the leading wine consuming nation in the world and almost the half Italian wine exports are directed to five states: New York, California, Florida, Illinois and Texas).
