Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, has released its numbers for the second half of 2014, showing a positive period for Jameson Whiskey. Commenting on the results, Anna Malmhake, Chairman & CEO of Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard said, "The six-month period to the end of December 2014 was another positive one for Jameson worldwide with the continued global development of Jameson Irish Whiskey."
As a global whiskey category leader, Jameson saw its net sales increase by 10% in the first half of 2014, with growth continuing throughout the year. This marks the 25th year of growth for the Irish whiskey brand. Globally, 47 of Jameson's markets are in double or triple digit growth.
Irish Distillers also commented on the publication of The Heads of The Public Health (Alcohol) Bill, saying, "We are as ever committed to the responsible marketing of our products and we are already subject to some of the most stringent co-regulatory codes of practice on alcohol marketing and sponsorship anywhere in the world. We welcome the move towards statutory codes and we look forward to working with government on these."
This year will also mark the 13th final year of Jameson's title sponsorship of The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, set to be held on the 19th to 29th of March. Jameson began its title sponsorship in 2003, which initially ran for four years but was extended on three occasions.
However, the Jameson brand plans to continue bringing new collaborations in film to Ireland and the world market. This year the Jameson First Shot international competition will be open for Irish entrants for the first time.
