Some 220 UK Marks and Spencer supermarkets are to commence stocking Lanson’s Extra Age Brut NV champagne, which is in fact a blend of three of the house’s vintages.
The blend includes vintages from 2002, 2004 and 2005. Each has had five years’ cellar-ageing prior to being released onto the market.
“We are delighted to have Champagne Lanson’s Extra Age Brut NV added to our growing Champagne offering,” M&S head winemaker Sue Daniels told TheDrinksBusiness.com. “We know that our customers will welcome an opportunity to try this exceptional Champagne.”
A spokesperson for Champagne Lanson said, “We are absolutely thrilled about Marks & Spencer’s decision to stock our exquisite Champagne Lanson Extra Age Brut NV.
“This is an important listing for us. We know that once customers try our Champagnes they become advocates and we hope that this will develop into a long-lasting relationship with Marks & Spencer.”
