The International Taste and Quality Institute (iTQi) in Brussels has named Spain’s Mondariz as the world’s best still water.
Mondariz received the Superior Taste, and the Diamond Taste Award, one of the most coveted accolades within the global food and beverage industry.
Its sparkling water was also highly commended, and lauded with three stars and the Superior Taste Award for the sixth consecutive year.
If the sparkling gets a Superior Taste Award next year and for the seventh time, it will receive a Diamond Taste Award as well, making Mondariz the only company in the world to have both a still and a sparkling water with such credentials.
In a statement published on its website, Mondariz said, "Just like on previous occasions, Mondariz's still and sparkling waters have achieved the qualification of 'exceptional', which is achieved with over 90 points out of 100."
Mondariz' still is the first product in its category in the world to have received the Superior Taste Award for seven consecutive years, a must in order to receive the Diamond Taste Award.
