Research conducted by leading drinks maker AB InBev suggests that online beer purchases in the UK will experience a surge this Christmas, thedrinksbusiness.com reports.
The study suggests that the money spent on purchasing beers online over the Christmas period will increase by about 25 per cent, on a like-for-like basis.
The survey of 2,000 people also indicates that at UK Christmas gatherings, an average of three different kinds of beer will be served, with stouts, ales and lagers being the most prominent of these.
AB InBev’s eMarketing manager Dries Mertens, said, “We are predicting 2015 will be a record year for online beer delivery sales – our biggest yet.
“Not only is beer a popular beverage at Christmas parties, but we are seeing a growing interest in pairing beer with food – and Christmas lunch is perfect for this.”
