Robert Parker is to delegate the duty of critiquing en primeur wines from Bordeaux.
Neal Martin will take up the job for the Wine Advocate, the influential publication founded by Parker in 1978. Taking up the reins of its Bordeaux section its among the most prestigious job portfolios at the company, and indeed, this is that region that made the American bi-monthly's assessments famous.
Writing of the new appointment, Parker wrote on his website, "As just part of the planned coverage for this year, Neal will review the 2014 en primeur releases from Bordeaux. Meanwhile I plan to review the newly bottled 2012 vintage wines and produce a comprehensive 10-year retrospective on the incredible 2005 Bordeaux vintage."
The reputation of Martin's critical acumen soared after he published Pomerol – a detailed book concerned with the commune's wine.
