Drinks giant Pernod Ricard has posted sales of €2,292 million in the first quarter of its 2018 financial year, representing organic growth of 5.7%.
The company says that this improvement was driven by sales of its strategic international brands (+8%), which includes Absolut, Jameson, and Malibu.

The drinks maker reported growth across all regions, including the Americas (+6%), Asia (+7%), Europe (+3%) and emerging markets (+10%).
“We have had a very good start to the year, with our growth accelerating and diversifying in terms of both markets and brands," said Alexandre Ricard, the group's chairman and chief executive officer.
"In an environment that remains uncertain, we confirm our FY18 guidance of organic growth in profit from recurring operations of between +3% and +5%. We will continue to implement our roadmap, in
particular focusing on digital, innovation and operational excellence.”
Pernod Ricard recorded sales of €9,010 million in its 2017 financial year, representing a 3.6% increase on the previous year.
