Following a recent statement by Alexandre Ricard, chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard, that the US is a “top priority” for the group, the drinks multinational has authorised an executive management shake-up at its North American arm.
Current vice president of marketing for Pernod Ricard China, James Slack, will become the senior vice president of its American wine division, assuming the role on 1 September 2016.
He succeeds Jeff Argden, who is to become senior vice president of ‘new brand ventures’, “Pernod Ricard USA’s soon-to-be-established ‘incubation’ division that will redefine how future growth brands are built,” a company press release said.
Jonas Tahlin, CEO of Absolut Elyx, is to join Pernod’s US executive committee, while also remaining in his current position.
Pernod USA has also created a new role – senior vice president of corporate communications and CSR – which has yet to be filled.
The company’s senior vice president of operations, Dan Denisoff, is to leave the company, and Jim Stanski, vice president of operations for Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd, “will take responsibility for the US and Canadian Operation.”
