The CEO of Diageo’s Canadian division, Jakob Ripshtein, will also act as the Chief Financial Officer of the multinational’s North American arm following the sudden departure of Greg Kryder, thedrinksbusiness.com reports.
Kryder has held the role since 2012, and occupied a number of others in Diageo before it. His departure was precipitated by the need “to pursue other career interests,” the drinks giant said in a statement.
“I’d like to thank Greg for his many contributions to Diageo over the last 14 years,” commented Deirdre Mahlan, head of Diageo North America.
She said of his replacement, “During his tenure leading our Canada business, Jakob has overseen the successful transformation to a broker model, delivering strong business results.”
