Russian retail group Dixy has seen a rise in sales of Russian wines after putting a focus on working with domestic suppliers. The retailer has launched a week-long wine festival in celebration thereof.
Since focusing on Russian wine producers, sales of domestic wine have increased from 15% to 25% since 2014. The store has sold over 5 million bottles of domestically manufactured wine in the past year.
Red wine has proven the most popular among consumers, with 70% of them choosing it, and white and sparkling wines are also available.
“Russian wines have always been a leader in terms of customer demand. The strong sales growth in the category in recent years demonstrates the customer’s deepening trust in manufacturers, in particular, owing to attractive prices combined with high product quality,” said a Dixy Group spokesperson.
